Rumors aboard Mashape's spaceship

At Mashape, we’ve been building a new product, APIAnalytics, to let anyone easily track and monitor anything related to HTTP in their applications. To be successful, it needs to be extremely easy to plug any application into it. There’s many ways to achieve that with as little friction as possible, such as agents and libraries for every popular language, but for now let’s talk about HTTP proxies. Some of our requirements for HARchiver, our official lightweight proxy for APIAnalytics are:

KONG, the king of open-source API management platforms, is in my (totally not biased) opinion an extremely cool tool. From startups to enterprises, companies have tons of APIs (growth of APIs within Mashape) and they need to be managed in a simple and effective way. Instead of building functionalities into each microservice KONG deploys a solution for managing them based on your needs – focus on excelling at microservices instead of the boring stuff.

Microservices just like sushi

When I was explaining microservices to my cousin, and why they’re cool, I told him to imagine microservices like awesome…

Mashape is excited to introduce Kong, the API industry’s first open source platform for managing microservices and APIs. Using NGINX as its proxy server, Kong enables developers to create plugins for authentication, rate limiting, transformations, and many other common utilities to expedite the creation of next-generation software such as the latest in mobile, IoT, and Web.     Over the past several years Mashape developed the underlying technology for Kong, which powers the world’s largest API marketplace. The 140,000 active developers in our community have experienced Kong first hand. We’re proud of what we’ve started, but it’s time to…
