During our last post, we discussed a few use cases for leveraging the technology of the Slice API to its full potential. In this installment, we will take you through how integration with our API has enabled developers to create their own unique user experiences. The great thing about the Slice API is that our technology empowers developers with endless opportunities to create experiences that help users with all aspects of the post-purchase experience. We’ve worked with startups like Gone and Trov that help customers manage their purchases, with help from our item level data. Our real-time shipment tracking also…
In our last post, we introduced the Slice API and shared with you a bit of the journey that inspired us to offer a public API for developers to retrieve purchase history from their users who have opted in.  We touched on a few of the use cases, but didn’t go into much depth on what we see as the potential reach of our technology.  So today, we’re going to describe a few of the most compelling concepts that we’ve seen for our data integrations that we’ve seen at hackathons or mocked up internally and haven’t had time to build…

The Slice API provides developers with item-level purchase history for their opted-in users, enabling enhanced and personalized experiences with online shopping data from more than 500,000 merchants. Once a user has opted into our service, we draw primarily on the purchases contained in their email inboxes, and provide extremely high-accuracy data on spending habits, which merchants a user tends to buy from, how much a user spends on different types of products, and so on, as well as up-to-date information on the status of any shipments that a user has in flight. We power apps that deal with all aspects…

Creative Commons: https://flic.kr/p/6bun5f At Mashape, we are always looking for the best conferences where we can share our knowledge and expertise with our fellow developers. Sharing is part of our DNA! We are also huge fans of hackathons, user group meetups, and camp-style events. We are here in the community, and we like to be part of the success of different events by finding creative ways to sponsor them. Of course, we can’t participate in all tech-related events, but if your primary audience is developers, and you are looking for experienced speakers for non-product pitch talks, let us know! You…

There are a lot of ways to learn something new, to upgrade our skills or to find a solution to our problem. Think about the search engine, StackOverflow, books, and documentations that spread all over the web. They are all valid ways to find the information we are looking for, but there is nothing as powerful than contact with a real person. At Mashape, we believe in the power of mentorship, and it’s why we are proud to support hack.pledge(), a movement for programmers worldwide to assemble and mentor each other. There are many platforms out there, but what…
