Our perfect candidate is an artist and and a poet, truly passionate about imagining the future around users experiences and visual design. You will have the opportunity to have a huge impact as an early member in the team.
Responsibilities:
- Design a world-class masterpiece
- Create a graphic system for the mashape.com
- Design/Create new site graphics
- Improve UI elements around every single pixel
- Develop pixel perfect Photoshop comps
- Create an advance site-wide style guide
- Storyboard/prototype UX experiences
- Work closely with the frontend team
Requirements:
- Fast in Photoshop/Illustrator
- Excellent use of typography
- Outstanding sense of color
- Details are your food
- Writing poems is a big plus
- A portfolio that exhibits excellent use of typography, imagery, and graphic elements
- Knowledge of front end markup: HTML/CSS/JQuery/Other
- Strong sketching skills
- Hero of Adobe CS
- Information Design Skills
- BFA/MFA or equivalent industry experience

Mashape is coming to Amsterdam both as a speaker and a sponsor of the Kings of Code. On September 17th and 18th there will be a big Hack Battle with around 300 developers that compete against the other teams by building great apps in just under 36hours on top of APIs and SDKs.

It’s an hackathon day again, and this time you should join the biggest hackathon of this year: Disrupt SF Hackathon!
Tinypay.me is sponsoring this event with a simple E-commerce API which makes it easy for you to add e-commerce functionality to your website or application. So Freaking Good!
We are thrilled to announce $1.5M in seed funding from a stunning group of investors, both institutional and angels. The round was led by NEA, with a strong participation from Index Ventures (which is on fire nowadays). In addition Charles River Ventures and Ignition Partners have participated in the syndicate as well. The angel side is also impressive for us, with Jeff Bezos and Eric Schmidt’s Innovation Endeavors, as well as Erik Rannala (Admob, Heroku, 99design), Russell Siegelman (KPCB and Microsoft) and Rick Webb (TheBarbarianGroup) among many.
Finally, we can upgrade Mashape and provide better services for our users. We're moving from a "garage style" company to something a bit more serious, but not too much. ;-)
I believe we're just at the beginning of our road, I believe the market of APIs just started to take a shape, I believe we'll have a roller coaster time ahead of us - fun without exceptions.
We have a very long term vision, we believe APIs will play a major role in the world of Information Technology for the years to come - the interesting part is that even companies not related to Internet as a core business, are now integrating APIs into their products, such Toyota or Nike. If we take a look into those startups that have more than 30 people, we notice that most of them are hiring 2 new positions: API evangelist and API engineer. Those positions would never have existed 3 years ago. A new market is coming.
Mashape will use the funds to aggressively hire creative software designers and accelerate the product development and boost the growth.
