The Mashape API Marketplace boasts more than 10,000 APIs from over 140,000 API developers around the world. To help you discover interesting APIs in various topics, we’re happy to introduce API collections, a curation of Mashape’s most popular APIs.   From SMS to sentiment analysis, image recognition to face detection/ recognition, we carefully handpick Mashape’s top APIs and curate them by categories just for you! On each of the API collections, you will find a short description of the API, with a consume API link that will bring you straight to the API’s documentation on Mashape.  …

While I was doing research to understand which email APIs were the best, I learned a lot about this market space. So here are my thoughts on using email service providers.

10 Reason to use email APIs

Easy: One REST API call and an email is sailing through the web on its way to a destination Cheap: It’s likely that it will cost you less to use an API than rent hardware…
The following is a guest post from Simply Wall St, an Australian-based startup backed by AWI Ventures. Simply Wall St aims to simplify investing for everyone. The most daunting aspect first-time investors face when entering the market can be choosing the most appropriate stock to buy, particularly if the user is unfamiliar with complex tables and dense financial reports. Simply Wall St addresses this by presenting stock data in a new, visual format, one that can be easily appreciated by the new investor and veterans alike. The result is the Snowflake, a graphical interpretation of live stock data, which…

It is with a great pleasure that we introduce Mockbin, service to help developers mock, test, and track HTTP calls with ease! As maintainers of the popular Unirest HTTP Library and Mashape API marketplace supporting more than 10,000 APIs, we’re always testing against edge cases, and a variety of HTTP calls. Instead of relying on a random collection of services and tools to test different capabilities of an HTTP client and debug API requests, we created Mockbin in order to streamline our code and test with just a single source with guaranteed results, all while being able to…

Last week, we introduced the Breezometer Air Quality API. This week, we have a second guest post from Breezometer on how to create an Air Quality and Weather API mashup. The goal of this post is to demonstrate how easy it is to integrate BreezoMeter’s Air Quality Data through Mashape platform. There are endlessness use cases for Air Quality data, and this is just a small example on how we used Mashape’s awesome API service.   In the example below, we decided to use PHP foundation of WordPress that will combine our API with the Simple weather API on…

The conference, held at one of Rome’s many universities, was jam-packed, with a huge crowd of talented developers in attendance. Most of the attendees poured into Rome from all over Italy, with many even flying in from abroad to participate. IoT, 3D printing, microservices and remote working were just some of the hot topics the conference focused on.

The following is a guest post from Breezometer. Don’t forget to consume the Breezometer Air Quality API on Mashape! Recently announced as “the most promising startup company in 2014” by Global Entrepreneurship Week, BreezoMeter’s unique API has just landed on Mashape. BreezoMeter was invented to make air quality data as simple, intuitive and actionable as weather. The company’s core technology is in mapping air quality – historical, real time and projected – at street-level resolution. This is unique and valuable information that has many interesting use cases for many types of businesses and people.

Every March, college basketball fans find themselves deep in the throes of March Madness, even President Obama gets in on the fun. Here at Mashape, we were disappointed to find that developers were not invited to the party. The NCAA has no official APIs available. In fact, we couldn’t find any free public API out there! Something had to be done, so we made our own just in time for the Sweet Sixteen. Unfortunately, the NCAA and other sports leagues have yet to embrace open data and the innovations it can spur. Imagine a bracket predicting engine, real-time matchup-based…

Creative Commons image: https://flic.kr/p/9xiduB There is nothing more exciting than seeing hackers use their creativity in a small amount of time to create an amazing piece of software using APIs from Mashape. This is why we often participate and sponsor hackathons. Most of the time we sponsor a category prize; where to win, you must use one of the 10,000+ APIs in our marketplace. We strive to find cool prizes you’ll enjoy, such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi starting kits, RC Quadcopters, Android tablets, and more. Since teams usually consist of four members, we always have a prize for each…
